THERE IS A PRECISE COMMITMENT ON MONTI TRENTINI’S HORIZON: TO ENSURE THAT TECHNOLOGY AND PRODUCTION METHODS ARE IN TUNE WITH THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE ENVIRONMENT, THE SAFEGUARDING OF THE MOUNTAINS AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY.

First and foremost, we have chosen to protect the mountain environment, to develop a supply chain that can restore a safeguarding economy to the Dolomite landscape. We believe that only a healthy environment can produce a quality product. Our Grigno and Enego dairies are a clear example of this: their high-quality products help maintain the work of hundreds of local dairy farms and they help in caring for the landscape for the benefit of the whole mountain community.

Secondly, we have endeavored to save energy with the realization of:
• A photovoltaic plant that can generate about 80.000kWh per year, thus making us selfsufficient and prevents us from accessing the power grid.
• A plant that recycles thermal energy produced by our cold storage plant. Instead of going into the atmosphere, the energy produced is channelled to produce hot water and steam used in different production equipment. This makes a considerable impact on saving thermal and electrical energy, which would otherwise be obtained from nonrenewable sources.
• A purification plant that can reduce the amount of waste sludge, thus reducing the need for waste disposal lorries and reducing the amount of CO₂ in the atmosphere.
• Areas for ageing the cheese with an inverter that guarantees continuous energy-saving.
